About
Yara Linss "Poems"
Lyric poetry of Dorothy Parker, James Joyce and Emily Dickinson, Fernanda Young, as wellas Kurt Schwitters, Heinrich Heine and Else Lasker-Schüler is where the young german-brazilian singer Yara Linss got her inspiration for the repertoire of her second cd „poems".
Yara Linss composed music for this poetry which glides through different genres, flexibly and freely, and that way not only defies any classification but also generates a highly individual own style.
With a clear timbred, smooth voice the vocalist, who was born in São Paulo in 1980 and grew up in the south of Germany, puts the lyrical references that date back to the 19th to 21st century into shape of bouncy jazz chansons on a scale of dreamy-maiden to energetic-expressive.
