Industrial Neoclassical Darkwave A group for martial industrial and dark neoclassical tunes.
This is the first song in an ongoing series on the Tunnels of Set. It has been created as the result of a personal exploration of the tunnel of Thantifaxath, which deals with day-by-day zombiefication in society. Many let themselves become trapped in the machine: becoming stable, stiff, stagnant, forgetting the amazement with life that characterized their childhoods. In the tunnel of Thantifaxath there is the forgetting of Neverland, the growing adult misspelled as transforming from a child to an idiot. As its absolute opposite stands Initiation and the magical world, and this contrasts as beauty arises midway in the song.

@Noah Slavin: Thank you very muchly! The concept comes from occult author Kenneth Grant. Roughly, the Tunnel system is a map of the subconscious, the "nightside of consciousness", a way to explore the "universe B" of the incomprehensible and beyond rational. So, after I explore a tunnel through ritual, meditation, entheogens and whatever method feels appropiate for some time -it seems to end up being around one month-, the end is signalled by the inspiration that leads to creating a song to express what the experience was.

I closed my eyes and just focused on the entire song. I experienced going through the tunnel exactly like you described. As I said before, I've never listened to anything more visual than your music. Truly excellent work. I am fasinated by the concept of these tunnels! Where do they derive from? The fact that you can make me experience them is incredible. Keep it up!

I feel like I'm in some kind of ruin, and the sounds I'm hearing are the ghosts of these ruins

very emotional and environmental. I can see this working very well on a commercial level in soundtracks. keep up the good work!

@broken Key: Also, I really love Renoise. I mean, I used to compose with Fast Tracker II more than a decade ago but obviously its so out of date, if only for the lack of VST support. Growing from using WAVs to VSTs has become a whole world of difference to me. But to be honest I was just totally unable to learn Cubase, Reason, or any of those 'modern' methods. It just doesn't feel as intuitive and direct as a tracker. I'm really glad someone did Renoise and I'm a proud registered user heh.

@Broken Key: Yes! This song uses mostly instruments manually created with Massive (Native Instruments) and a very very low proportion of wav samples. Sometimes I sequence through Massive step+performer, but also partially through Renoise, specially drums. The output is directly rendered from Renoise then turned into FLAC through Audacity and uploaded.

@ONICHOMP: Thank you! It sure can be nostalgia, the idea behind the song deals with the contrast between the amazement on everything in youth and the 'zombiefication' social process leading to adulthood

this reminds me of some of the stuff off of those MASK 00 compilations, they all have this dark spacious feel that sounds like it came from a 90's video game about aliens. this is exactly how i feel about this song, it brings me back to playing alien trilogy. not sure if nostalgia was the feel you were going for here but this really does sound awesome. nice job.
