About
In 2007, William T. Lane - originally a DJ under a different name - made the decision to begin producing original tracks and became "wonkknow." He released his long-gestating debut album "Fourth" in 2010. Following that in 2011 was the release of "As You Face West", a collaboration with Cayce Andrew. He's had the privilege to share the stage with such talents as DDR, Thee-O, Jordan Stevens, Jonny Vibe, Metaphase, and more.
wonkknow creates musical landscapes that harken back to a time when electronic dance music focused more on moving your body and soul. With trance-like rhythms that borderline the psychedelic, techno-inspired drums, and hypnotic lyrics, his overall progressive style is designed to evoke a more emotional response beyond that of most modern electronic dance music. His live shows are equally moving, featuring an organic, polished sound and a powerful vocal presence.
Influences include Underworld, Daft Punk, Rabbit In The Moon, Infected Mushroom, Juno Reactor, DDR, Akufen, Faithless, Propellerheads, Orbital, Electric Skychurch, Depeche Mode, Radiohead, Pink Floyd, and György Ligeti.
