About
WoD God, short for Whispers of Dead Gods (I know I know, singular vs. plural). If you want any of my tracks as MP3s, send me a message, let me know what you think.
A bit about me: I got started making this kind of music in the 90s, first playing around with CSound, which I got pretty familiar with and decided I didn't want to have to learn any other soft synths, so it's still my main sound-maker. I don't do the whole text-editor thing with CSound though, I use an app called blue (very nice). I also use any number of auxiliary apps on Linux, primarily Ardour, which I use for the final mixdown. I work real slow, hence I'm just now getting around to getting my music on the web. I don't DJ or anything either, in fact I'm pretty isolated from any "scene" at all.
I'm a big fan of melody and distortion, and I hate real repetitive music; I'm not a fan of any kind of dance music, really. I like to work with dynamics in my music, having a nice melody contrasted by real ugly noise, that kind of thing. While I like to work with noise and enjoy trying to come up with the most raucous sounds I can, I'm not a big fan of straight-noise stuff (Merzbow, et al).
Influences are: heavy metal (thrash), ambient, classical, Devin Townsend
