In late 2009 Keith "Solace" West and Corey "Vacate" Faulkner decided that the time had come to start a group focused keenly on heavy bass music. After meeting in around 2001 through D'n'B and rave culture, and spending nearly a decade cultivating their tastes in music, and a few years pinned avidly to the production grid, it was time to take things to the next level, and with a rich history and knowledge of Drum and Bass and the, at the time, newly emerging popularity of dubstep and heavier sounds in house music, it was a perfect time for Hot Mess to begin.
A sublimation of the heavy, the catchy, the deep, the shallow, the high's, the low's and nearly anything else you can find to fit in there, since day one, they have been set on bringing the party to the masses directly from the heavy end of the dancefloor. Over 20 years combined behind the decks brings a series of crisp mixes, double drops and flurry of styles sure to keep any crowd hungering for bass, but thats not all.
With the last few years now spent feverishly in the studio, honing the crafts to lay waste to floors with there own breed of dacefloor mayhem, they've seen a steady string of releases and remix work since their inception. With their debut release being on the Beatport Dubstep Must Hear list to winning Blu Mar Ten's "Believe Me" Remix contest, to flying up the beatport charts with their latest release, the "No Requests" EP (Heavy Artillery) or the tear out success of their bootleg remix of Childish Gambino's "You Hear Me" or Two Door Cinema Club's "What You Know", they insist that you have "heard Nothing yet", poised to unleash their most high quality and impressive work to date.
With an eye aimed firmly at the top, production obsessed and Dj sets on point, the future seems to hold know bounds for this daring duo.
