The Chicago-based dance troupe Hedwig Dances has begun an artistic exchange with the Havana based company DanzAbierta. The Chicago troupe took their first trip to Cuba last year and they’ll head there again in 2013. The troupe made a documentary film about the trip called Touch Cuba 2012.

Filmmaker Daniel Kullman, Hedwig Dances’ founder Jan Bartozsek, and Victor Alexander, one of the dancers who is originally from Cuba, join us in studio to discuss the role of dance in Cuban culture.
