Former Congressman and Senator and onetime presidential candidate George McGovern died this weekend. McGovern famously expressed his strong opposition to the Vietnam War when running in the 1972 race. He was defeated in a landslide by Richard Nixon. He’s also credited for shaping the Democratic Party in many ways. Sen. Dick Durbin remembers his legacy.
