Meningitis outbreak raises alarm

Illinois is one of 15 states reporting cases of meningitis related to contaminated steroids prepared at a drug compounding center in Massachusetts. The outbreak has many people headed to emergency rooms where physicians like Northwestern’s Dr. Rahul Khare often must perform a rather invasive test.
