Examining school closings

This week Chicago Public Schools announced that instead of closing schools based on performance, it will look to close schools that are underutilized. The new guidelines are aimed at maximizing resources, but as Sarah Karp reports in the latest edition of Catalyst Chicago, closing schools has not historically led to big savings.
