    Mmm, antonovka!

    Gone to the woods

I really need to be studying instead of this!

Wow, it seems like my first serious thing!

The "lyrics" were written in 1912 by Velimir Khlebnikov,
the vocal track is R. Jakobson (a renowned linguist) reading an extract from the poem, in 1954.

    In English (my version):

    Here it is:
"And as he said: I'm a white raven
    And I am lonesome

"But everything: the blackest weight of doubt
As well as the white crown of lightning
I'd throw away for the mere ghost :
to fly into the land of silver,
become the ringing auspice of the good"

as the water longs to shatter
    by the well
    as the reins are mirrored
    by the bog, vermeil
    as the slender serpent rushes
    would the water shatter, flee
    for, the black-eyed maiden, she
of her boots, which she had earned
wants to see a greener color

    Whispers, murmurs, groans of bliss
    Shame's dark flush
Windows, huts on the three sides
    Flocks, gorged, hush.
