So sweet ! Even 8 bits square waves can be ! Just a question, do you use an 8bit emulator as a plugin for your daw? If yes, what is this emu?
-
@kronsilds: There's this Magic8bitPlug for AUs which works perfectly with Garageband. It's free and works as sound generator (it's got square, triangular, sine, saw + a noise sample which works perfectly for beats). I like triangular waves the most, they sound so very fragile.

Wow! I have chills! What a wonderful sound
-
@kronsilds: originally, it was suposed to be a trumpet or a horn, but I didn't have samples/instrs good enough so had to sing it :)

@pixelord: now, that would be areal challenge! I'm kinda stuck with the melody development, cuz to me it seems really finalized :)

Nice track man...whats the story behind the vocals ?
-
@Dragonofeden: a really powerful piece of poetry (composed in 1912 by Velimir Khlebnikov) that i was inspired by. This extrait is read by a certain Jakobson.

-
@obliviongarden: wow thanks! i'll send you the translation when i finish it :)
-
@obliviongarden: ok I did it. it's a bit dull and not very professional but that's all I'm capable of for now. the text is in the track's description.

Wow, it seems like my first serious thing! The "lyrics" were written in 1912 by Velimir Khlebnikov, the vocal track is a certain Jakobson reading an extract from the poem, in 1954. Also, I made a translation, but it must be lame, cause I'm just an amateur. Here it is: "And as he said: ... - Birds Artwork

Здравствуйте ! what kind of piano sound are you using? this sounds so natural and warm. but the whole vibe reminds me of Moscow's cold winter. well. I never been to Russia though. hehe lol
-
@I See Unicorns: oh it's garage band's "classic piano" instrument plus midi keyboard with touch sensitivity plus some reverb. i was thinking of Iceland windy rocky shores. never been there neither :) also, thanks for using my language!
- I See Unicorns on October 06, 2009 00:27
windy and icy.... then the producer's immagination is successfully communicated with listeners. lol

This was supposed to be a cover of a song by The Smiths but, well, you see how it turned out ))
it's my first experience with 8-bit, hope you like it guys
@Wazuhiru: I Like this soothing and chilled out melody. what did you do to make this sound? did u just get the final sound rendered in 8 bits instead of 16 bit like CD quality? Please give me the technique behind this. thanks ~
@I See Unicorns: hey, how're you doin'? I used an 8-bit synth, and a brown noise sample to make the "percussions", simple as that :)
