On a cloudy day in 1988 in Newark, N.J. Wayne Smith Jr. aka “King Pain was delivered to his parents Wayne Sr. and Sheila. At an early age King Pain was diagnosed with a retina detachment which after 4 unsuccessful operations caused him to lose sight in his left eye leaving him with no sight in that eye and limited sight in his right eye. It seems that at that time the “Music Creation Gods” replaced  his  loss  with the talent that he brings to you today, better known as “Hip Hop Artist”. Growing up he was surrounded by lots of music as his father was a former lead singer of a band , so he often heard and enjoyed a lot of “back in the day” R & B classics. His cousin Glenn Goines was a singer and guitarist with Parliament Funkadelic  also, his uncle Jeff  Motley is a well respected keyboard player in the industry having worked with  such artist as  Blackstreet, Mary J. Blige, Beyonce, Young Jeezy and “Lil”Wayne just to name a few. You can listen to King Pain’s music here on soundcloud.com
