BLACK MUSIC LOVER
VINYL RECORDS COLLECTOR
RARE GROOVE SELECTOR
I began buying vinyl records as a young teen, while I was listening to a lot of reggae music. The thing then was that majority of real & tough Jamaican music was only available on vinyl record. At the time I was living near Lyon, south eastern France, where I used to visit Reggae Jam, which was in my opinion one of the best Jamaican record shop in France (yet short-living) conducted by François Droguet, one of the best French connoisseurs in Jamaican music!
As long as I was exploring reggae music, I entered in contact with a lot of other music styles, notably because I lived in the city of Vienne, where a great Jazz Festival happens each summer.
Jamaican music, with its multiple influences, opened me up to Jazz, Soul, Funk and Disco. Another big influence in this sense came from DJ GOODKA (who holds Goodka Records Shop) in Grenoble where I studied a few years. The man really opened me to a lot of bands, records and grooves.
I am now addicted to vinyl records and worldwide Rare Grooves: spending a lot my time looking for records on Paris’ area flea markets & shops.
On my sound cloud, I’ll try to give out the opportunity to share my musical universe: Jazz, Jazz Funk, Jamaican Beats, Disco, Brazil & Latin Music, Euro & French Grooves, Afro & Caribbean Grooves and more…
