This began as a technical study more than a piece of music, but many Youtube tutorials, a ton of experimentation and a couple of samples later, I have this dubby talking-bassline track which I'm coming to enjoy quite a bit. So here it is.
I'm entirely new to this style so feel free let me know what you think. Especially if you've got good ideas.
Composed, performed, programmed and recorded in Ableton Live.
Samples are from Freesound:
Voice and background noise by acclivity- http://www.freesound.org/samplesViewSingle.php?id=49118

@Dominitus: Sorry to get back to you so late! I don't remember which ones they were specifically. I was searching around for things like "dubstep snares", "halftime drums", "wobble bass", things like that. I've watched a lot of Dubspot tutorials (and tutorials linked from them) if that's any help. And if it isn't, hit me up sometime and I'd be happy to share what I've learned :)

Dude, really friggin' excellent track. What tutorial were you following, out of curiosity? I'm getting in to Ableton Live myself.

@DjMizzy Thanks! I'm glad to hear that... my bass monitoring situation is suboptimal and so I was sort of flying blind. I was afraid I'd borked it all up but I'm glad you liked it :)

By this point the atmosphere of the track has built up loads, but it was subtle and nice, instead of in your face. It's cool, the other parts seemed to just join in without you noticing then before you know it, the track has gone from quiet to full on! It's great!

Love those sub-bass drops perfectly timed alongside the wobble bass, works very well!

@FireflyBellydance: You sure can! Please do :) It's under Creative Commons so you can use it for pretty much anything you want. Especially if it's something awesome.
