Very nice leadup. At the drop you could cut out the hats for 8 or 16 n drop em back in to allow for some percussive growth. The bass is pretty cool, but something about it doesnt fit the crispness of the other sounds; try gating the sound or shortening the release, or maybe some slight distortion and compression can bring out snap. Keep that funky bounce for sure tho!

The kick is good, though i think its a little too dominent. Maybe some filtering in the lower freq's.

Two words.... Angry techno. I like it though. I'll be interested to see where you go, or start with it.

You could layer another kick with the one you got to get some snap with the beat. Make sure you cut all the bass out of the 2nd kick tho (like under 500-600hz), it'l get too muddy down there otherwise
- Mattriculous on February 10, 2009 05:10
@v904: Dont like no mud!

Dont think the wind up works; the tracks darker and progressive n might work better if you thin out the sound before the drop, rather than build it up... think techno like Dnox/Beckers or Lutzenkirchen, even some Deadmau5 stuff.

Great build up, love the growth of the bassline. You could thicken it up a bit w a flanger or phaser, but make it subtle..
