- The Story of the riders of the storm -
In the beginning of 2009 Pedro Pico a.k.a Mr.Dim (ex-Harms Way, Born Of Fire) had a desire to make some good old 80´s thrash-metal in veins of Metallica,Slayer,Sepultura,Kreator, Exodus etc.
This was the music he loved and played as a teenager. He decided to form a band with his best cavalleros Pedro El Guero a.k.a Erik Wallin (ex.Merciless, Death Breath, Nirvana 2002, Harms Way) guitar and Pedro Serdito a.k.a Stipen from Dia Psalma (ex.Merciless, Harms Way,Transport League) drums. This Project was ment as a TRIBUTE to the bands mentioned above.
The band TRES AMIGOS is born.
The concept of having Mexican image besides the band name (which came up out of the blue during rehearsals) is because the band wants to do something different. TRES AMIGOS wanted to look cool in their own way. Ponchos, fat sombreros, boots, chaps and dirty make up and good old Thrash Metal, what can go wrong?
The band wants to make it clear that the image is NOT intented to be disrespectful to Mexican people or culture.
The idea is not to do something musically revolutionary but something people can swing their sombreros to while downing tequila. In september 2009 they entered the studio of senior Enrico Inferno to capture the raw energy of 4 songs on tape.
On the first gig in a foreign land in the cold north, TRES AMIGOS brought with them a loco called Pedro Tacón a.k.a Marcus Klack ( Early member of the legendary Swedish band MORBID) to handle some guitarra on stage.
It was love at first zip of the tequila!!!!!
The band was amazed by his skills and decided that from then and on change name, with Pedro Tacón onboard Tres Amigos became the TRASH AMIGOS!!!
Once again, In March 2011 the four stinking horsemen, steered their burros to the town of Stringnose to record their first full-length album with senior Enrico....The album will be released by War Anthem records on November 11th 2011!!
