The last two years have been an incredible ride – I’ve had the opportunity to play shows on three continents, visit places I’ve never been before, and perform with artists that I grew up listening to. Playing a stadium show was something two years ago that I never could have imagined would be a reality, but you guys made it all possible: telling your friends about my stuff, tweeting, and posting on facebook, you spread the music to the point where I’ve been able to go on all these awesome adventures. Thank you for taking a chance on the music and spreading the word – I appreciate it more than you know.

I’ve been extremely fortunate to have been afforded a lot of opportunity, and from an early age, adults in my life encouraged me to think critically and explore a variety of creative pursuits, but not everyone is as lucky. To that end, all proceeds from this mixtape are going to 826 Valencia, Dave Eggers’s non-profit dedicated to helping children and young adults develop writing skills and to helping teachers inspire their students to write. Writing has been both a creative outlet and inspiration for me throughout my life, and my hope is that we can help provide other kids that same opportunity.
