interview-with-brian
Last month, 62 members of the House and Senate signed a letter to the Department of Health and Human Services, urging them to continue their process of revamping blood donation policies. Specifically, they are looking for a way to end the 27 year old ban on all MSM donors--that is men who have sex with men, who cannot donate regardless of their risk for disease. Intern Remy Schwartz talked with Brian Richardson, Director of Public affairs at the Center on Halsted about how the ban reinforces stereotypes of who has and can contract HIV and AIDS.
