About
Vivian Cunha Brown (born November 30, 1983), professionally known as Vivian Cunha in Brazil, Is a Brazilian, pop rock/R&B singer, songwriter and dancer. Vivian started to professionally sing when she was about 18 years old in a ballroom band. For the two years as the lead vocal of the band, she acquired experience, which led her in the direction to try something new.
Vivian then set out to audition for a reality TV show in Brazil called “Popstars” amongst 30.000 girls she made it into the top 30 finalists. From this experience she learned a few things about what it takes to make it in the music industry; like feeling more confident in her own skin, finding herself as a musician, and not being afraid to take chances. After the show, she returned to the ballroom band. She also started a few bands along the way, in order to sing the type music she loved. In 2006, she therefore changed her focus to the United States, where she wanted more than anything to come to learn English. She always wanted to sing and pronounce American music perfectly. After spending a year abroad studying English, she decided it was time to return home to her family.
Upon returning to Brazil Vivian created a band called “Papo de gato” it was a pop rock band made up of 4 musicians, together they travelled Brazil, playing in front of thousands of people every week. The band played mostly cover songs at first, but Vivian wanted to express her life through her music. With time she started to compose music about actual events of her life. Vivian and the band then started recording in one of the best studios of Brazil, the final CD was mixed and mastered by Mike Fossenkemper, Mike also worked with Santana, and Madonna on there albums.
After the Independent release of the Album “Voce”, the press started to publicize the bands story, through newspapers, magazines, TV interviews, and web sites. This Publicity led to unforgettable moments, such as singing with Andreas Kisser from “Sepultura.” During a TV show’s charity event, Andreas and Vivian performed for underprivileged children to inspire them to follow their desires in music. Praise from Madonna’s production was also one of the most important highlights of her career.
After the release of her album, Vivian fan base started to grow, due to the fact they were no longer a cover band. As her fan base grew so did her hours along with the number of shows she would perform every week. Since Vivian was 18 she had been singing professionally. Taking only a short vacation every year, having a full schedule put her endurance to the test. She has learned to cope with the difficulties of being a lead singer, such as being on the road, having little time sleeping and eating correctly, and keeping her voice healthy. Although she has been exposed to most of the difficulties of being a singer, she has always been determined and motivated to achieve her dreams. Vivian never had much time to be with her friends or even have a boy friend but all of that changed when she took a vacation to America.
In 2007 she came to America, where she met the love of her life. Over the past 3 years their relationship grew until 2010 when Vivian and Robert got married. This was not the end of Vivian’s singing career but a new beginning, with many more opportunities. As a new permanent resident, and permission to work in America, Vivian’s dream never felt so close. With the loving support of her family and friends she hopes to have a long lasting career in the music industry.
