Vision the Kid is a Milwaukee-born, Minneapolis-based MC and Singer/Songwriter. Over the last year he has released 2 Eps and an LP (Lost Summer) on Be Easy Music in collaboration with producer Ryan “Tru” Truax. With his roots in spoken word, his raps now range from the never-ending party to existential philosophical contemplation to vampire MCs. A self proclaimed “old soul” his melodies draw heavily from classic Soul and R&B. Growing up in the Midwest he was raised on a steady diet of Bob Dylan but found Wu Tang to be more appropriate for the bus rides home across town. He is a white rapper, in what has become a boom of the ilk, but he grew up in inner-city Milwaukee during some of the most racially explosive times in American history, the early 90’s. His exposure to diverse cultures, rhythms and opinions only reinforced his pursuit of a unique voice, one that reflected his particular experience. Keeping it real never meant following a Hip Hop cliche or making music bound by genre. To Vision it meant finding who you were, staying true to that and trying to come up with some funky shit. Teaming with Tru and Be Easy, he’s just beginning to fire on all cylinders.
