It's been 10 years that I managed to get a perfect copy of this limited gem of the British "Streetwave Records", that was reissued in 1985 (SWAVE5), but firstly released on the US "Fantasy WMOT Records" in 1979 (F-9583). That was the first album of "Slick" with the homonymous title. "Slick" was regarded as the backing band of "Fat Larry's Band". "Space Bass", which is their top track (maybe together with the banned in UK radio "Sexy Cream" song), was written by "Len Barry", "Larry James" and "Doris James" and produced by "Alan Rubens", "Steve Bernstein", "Larry James" and "Len Barry". Definitely one of the most powerful and rhythmical space-disco tracks, full of energy and uplifting mood! Stunning percussions and massive vocals all the way, while noisy flangers, spins, strings and other things plot together into a disco orgy that lifts you up and makes you feel the heat on your feet.
This is an edit of mine that you can grab for free on 320 kbps quality. I focused on a dj-friendly intro and exodus, kept the touchy vocals alive and added some more percussions for reaching a crunchy taste! Just feel free to spread some love or a good word on this if you feel the need to do so. You see, this is the most important reward...
As long as vinyl lives...
