VS//YOUTHCLUB (versus youthclub) is the musical waste of Tom Lord & Dougie Brown, two jaded composers from the industrial badlands of Northern England and residing in Berlin and London respectively.
Since 2010, the duo have been plotting an escape route through dying Apple products; honing their dark breed of electronic music via the Internet, the vast digital expanse that has become their surrogate home. 2012 saw their debut release, WAVES, published digitally through notorious independent net-label Aural Sects. This was succeeded by TIDE OUT, a ten-track epic featuring three new original cuts and a collection of remixes by the likes of Koda, ∆AIMON, Funerals and kkoee. Meanwhile, their remixes of Crystal Castles' Untrust Us and Purity Ring's Belispeak both charted in the top 20 remixes on Hype Machine, with the former reaching the top 10 of the overall charts after it was recognised by the band as an official remix and posted to over one million followers on Facebook and Soundcloud. All of this has garnered them praise from popular blogs such as Vice Magazine's Noisey blog, Golden Scissors, Mishka Bloglin, Majestic and Black Black Gold.
