I wrote the lyrics about a young sorceress/potions woman who had to fight for the human in a war against the gifted (those with magic). The war is going on outside and she locks herself in and works her magic in privacy even though she won't make it out alive even if she wins. The humans have no idea this is going on, they're just freaking out because the world is falling apart around them and they don't know why.
    Her name is Venetia.

    Lyrics:

"The rush, is that I need you to get out of here
I'll lock, this door until it's over undefeated
Yes, I'll die, but nobody else has a way to
    Save us"
She shut, the iron door and examined
The lock, it clicked, she turned around her
Cape followed her steps towards the vials
    While her eyes resized

Close, she could hear the chaos
    Muted in her four walls
    They relied on her now
Watch, the drops as they fell
    Elixers echo their calls
    "Avenge us, Venetia."

    Tears getting mixed with sweat
    Muttering familiar spells
    Too complex for the best
    Urban legend for the rest
    The Hex War had begun
She was the only one to fight
    For their lives
    Corset by the candle light

    Granted, they lack devotion
She reasoned as she flicked a potion
    Murder is not an option
She thought that the gifted knew that
She thought that the gifted knew that

    The ground, started to tremble
    Tipping over glass
    The muffled screams sent daggers
    Through her heart
She begged her mind to let the liquid
    Fall right into place

Close she could hear the chaos
    Muted in her four walls
    They relied on her now
Smile and let the drop fall
    Elixers echo their calls
    "Avenge us, Venetia."
