About
***WINNER of the 2011 FatCat Records and Junodownload.com 'Hauchka Remix Contest' [Listen to the remix of 'Ping' to the left]
"Outstanding! No one track supersedes another as each composition possesses a unique listening experience that, while identifiably is dubstep or glitch, reaches well beyond the expected sonic textures and treatments that distinguish those genres. Synthed choruses, melodic spikes and melancholy basslines rise and fall with individuated story lines that compose a dreamy, whumpy vibe for 2011!" - DJ Dragonfly speaking about Versificator EP, www.thegroovegarden.com
"Vapor machine serves a glitchy long player fluently served on sharp edged slow beats. surely its far more that a sentence could describe. Mellow worlds apprearing and disappearing in your ignited mindtrip where lofi glitch meets romantic electronica. Sweet!" - Cop of Sub FM speaking about Versificator EP, c0pland.blogspot.com
"Killer sense of riddim and bass, each song has a unique personality lead by the interesting sounds." - Tomas, KUSF 90.3 FM, San Francisco
"Spencer Putnam is an extremely talented musician...If you're a fan of Venetian Snares, Two Longe Swordsmen, Amon Tobin and other thematic glitch acts you'll really enjoy [his] album." - Alex Kourelis, Auxiliary Magazine
“Vapor Mache is making glitch and he’s doing it right." - Ighuaran, Editor-In-Chief, MusicZeitgeist.com
Combining his passion for music with a degree in Music Synthesis from Berklee College of Music, Spencer Putnam (aka Vapor Maché) delivers a healthy mix of hip hop, dubstep, downtempo, tech house, IDM, and cinematic textures. Maché's debut album "People" was self-released in 2008. Maché has performed with the likes of modern-jazz trailblazer Vijay Iyer, electronic pop-rock outfit Passion Pit and recently performed at the internationally-renowned Low End Theory in LA. Originally hailing from Omaha, Nebraska, Vapor Maché now calls Los Angeles home.
