Vanessa Contenay-Quinones/Vanessa & The O's:- Vanessa is French, Paris born and bred. She grew up loving the sounds of the 60’s found sneaking through her Dad's vinyl collection…Gainsbourg, Francois Hardy, Polnareff and Jaques Dutronc all figured on her personal stereo not the current artistes of the day. Vanessa left school at 16 to start a life in music, moved to London, signed a record deal with uber cool Heavenly Records, released a wild Drum & Bass album, made a record with Lou Reed, formed a band called Vanessa & The O’s with Smashing Pumpkin’s co-founder James Iha, was guest vocalist on Scott Walkers album The Drift and with The O's was invited by the maestro Morricone to contribute a track to his tribute album ‘We All Love Ennio Morricone’. Vanessa & the O’s debut album was the critically acclaimed dreamy pop of 'La Ballade d’O'.
Between The O's debut and follow on album 'Stories For Watering Skies' (already released in Japan August 2012 rest of world to follow soon) Vanessa hooked up with the Skeewiff guys Al & El to create the delicious 60's french pop sounds of 'Allez Pop!', a solo Vanessa project with a second album already in the can, watch this space!
