About
I've traveled half way around the world and DJ'd in some truly wonderful places. I've unleashed my electronic beats on cities like Sheffield, San Francisco, Berlin, Moscow, Warsaw, Seoul, Budapest, Tallinn, Shanghai, Amsterdam, I've been all over the place.
I've had some quality djs from all walks of electronic life play my releases, people like Adam Freeland, Plump DJs, Daddy G (Massive Attack), El Hornet (Pendulum), Umek, Pete Tong, Stanton Warriors. Even trance warriors Paul Van Dyke and Armin Van Buren have got in on the Vandal act at one stage. Bonkers.
I've been interviewed live on Radio 1 by Zane Lowe, very surreal. I've also been fortunate to have support from his fellow Radio 1 djs over the years like indie legend Steve Lamaq, Huw Stephens and Annie Nightingale.
I set up my own label Benefit Recordings back in Decenber 2009 and in April 2011 we released our first compilation, 'One Year On Benefit'. That was a cool moment.
So there you have it, there's loads of other shit I could mention but this brief biog would turn into an essay and we wouldn't want that. The main thing is that after over a decade of producing beats, as well as managing to ignore pretty much all the various trends and wagons, I'm somehow still here making the beats and dropping the bombs.
There's hope for all nerds out there.
p.s. I've got an alter ego called Captain Magic who makes rowdy, minimal electro techno.
