About

Sergio López, also known as cHENKIo, was born in Madrid, in 1983. His first contact with electronic music was in an emblematic party at the discotheque Bachatta, which is actually closed.

Previously was influenced by his big brother with 80's pop music, and the beginning of electronic in those days. In 1992, he finally bought his first deejay mixing equipment, composed of two professional turntables and a mixer. Since then, he began to purchase vinyls and develop his particular style.

In 2003, he came to an amateur Dj academy, M.Frequency, where Chenkio acquired a better deejay technique and knowledge. Two years later, he took up again his dream, this time with the most beautiful and sentimental sounds of electronic music: trance. At the end of the year, he usually listened radio programmes like A State of Trance, leaded by Armin van Buuren or TATW of Above & Beyond, and realized that he really likes this music. Attending to Trance Energy party in Holland, became a turning point and started keeping contact with people who had the same musical interests.

In November 2006, he performed in a disco for the first time, together with Bayona Music group, demonstrating his talent adopted years ago. In February 2007, he directed his personal online radio program, AfterdarK that was weekly broadcasted. In April of 2007, he finally became a member of Bayona Music group, expanding trance music with their Harmony sessions, together with DJLuismi. In June also started the collaboration in the radio program Ángel Sánchez & Friends in one of the most listened national radio station, Loca FM.
