    [Sounds of Shanghai] Recorded May 14, 2009. On this pleasant overcast day, many people are sitting at the tables under the trees of Huai Hai Park and playing cards. Some young and mostly old, everyone has a great time. There are exercise machines scattered around the area for local residents or businessmen to stretch and people-watch. At this table, some men play a popular card game, behind me are two girls laughing on a see-saw and speaking Shanghainese. In the distance you can hear a sweeper moving all around and the other card tables. Recorded with a Sony PCM-D50.
