With the first birthday of Underground Source rapidly approaching, we have great pleasure in introducing to you the latest addition to the UGS Podcast family. With our biggest aim and ambition to promote local talent from the city of Manchester, we bring to you an act set for big things in 2013!

Manchester duo Steven Barlow and Bryan Salkeld teamed up in 2010 forming electronic duo ‘5eighty6‘. In a short space of time, the duo have made a name for themselves in the city of Manchester becoming residents at club night Limbo at Joshua Brooks.

2012 saw their first productions signed to London label No Agenda Music that in it’s short space of time has signed the likes of Him_Self_Her and Claus Willhelm. Since the release of EP ‘Acid Trip‘, we at UGS have kept a close eye on 5eighty6 and with the duo set to play at The Night Shift’s launch in Stoke-on-Trent this February, we found the perfect opportunity to introduce you to their sound that has been heavily influenced by Hip-Hop and Mo-Town.

UGS Editor Andrew Leese caught up with the duo to find out more about the mix, the city of Manchester and what are the main priorities for the duo in 2013.
