About
Who Do You Trust...?
For some music is the background noise that helps distract them from their day to day lives....For others that is simply not enough....
Coming in many forms music colours our lives in a way that very few other things can approach.Whether it is just something that helps you through the day or something you look forward to on weekends music touches us all....and rightly so – being one of the oldest forms of communication known to man. They say a picture can tell a thousand words......Music it is said, can touch the Soul....
Underbeat Trust a.k.a. Spencer Zeh falls into the later group, having developed a love of music at an early age - he spent years going to rock and dance gigs of all sorts before buying himself a set of 1210’s and learning (some would say slowly ;) The art of DJing.....All good things come to those who wait so, fast forward 7 or so years and after spending the last 4 years DJing and running parties in London you would think he would be getting towards achieving his musical goals....but that’s the thing about passion....it drives you!!!So despite having enjoyed much so far on his musical journey it still feels like the beginning!
2011 has arguably been a bumper year for Spencer with a rammed calendar gigging under his Underbeat Trust alias and driving the Tech-Funk Depot forward with founder Russ Taylor to the point that after a sold out Boat Party with Lot49, the boys were approached my Mark Pember a.k.a. Meat Katie to co-promote a new night featuring the latest and best talent that the Bass Techno scene has to offer. What followed was initially billed as Vibrate but later in the year changed to Fracture as the new band pushed forward with bringing the latest Underground noise to the people!Starting out in London and as this goes to press having just completed their first event in Birmingham, the next 12 months is looking pretty damn Good!!!
Alongside this Spencer has run his own side project called About The Beat, hosting a weekly residency at Bar Vinyl - the home of Dance music in Camden (and original home of Finger Lickin Records).About The Beat was also busy down in South London @ Jamm Brixton hosting rooms at ‘Jamm presents’ and include supporting Basement Jaxx, Phil Hartnol (Orbital), Dave Spoon, Hybrid and DJ Yoda. With his UK projects currently on hold while he returns home for 6 months to visit his family and friends and also spend some time in the Australian scene, 2012 is shaping up as another year of hard work and of course Quality Music from a self professed Music Addict
If you want to catch him in Oz he has a number of gigs already booked in Perth and is in discussions for Sydney and Melbourne in the New Year so watch this space! Upcoming gigs including Lazy (Oz Day eve – Perth), Tech Funk Depot Boat Party – also Perth and his first ever gig at the world renowned Ambar Nightclub... this is one DJ to watch out for this summer!!!
