And yes, Eric Singer is a much better drummer and vocalist that Peter Criss ever was.

@Don Graman: Actually, I think "Outta This World," "Eat Your Heart Out," "Last Chance" and "Shout Mercy" all have that "Great straight-ahead catchy anthem-like fun rock" sound you describe. I also like the harder-edged sound of "Wall of Sound," "Long Way Down," "Back To The Stone Age." Cut for cut, Monster is as good or better than Love Gun, Dressed to Kill, or any of the early KISS albums. And yes, I've been a fan of KISS since 1975, so I have a bit of perspective.

i'm also curious how many of all the Many people that commented on this song & agree with me how Great it is (the Best song they've written in a Long time and the best on the album by far )& how it Really sounds like klassic Kiss, feel about the Rest of the album & if they're disappointed like i am that there are No other Great straight-ahead catchy anthem-like fun rock songs like this on there??

ps- btw, of course i'm gonna give the album more listens, and yes, i can see a few songs "growing on me" in time & probably liking the album a little better than i do at the moment, but Not Nearly as much as the other great ones i mentioned. Sonic Boom was the same to me as Monster- good- it had its "moments" but nothing "Great" and nowhere Near a "classic" At All!! but to show how Fair i am, i, like most Kiss fans i would guess, am partial to the original lineup with Ace & Peter. But- i Will admit that, even though i don't love either Monster or Sonic Boom & feel they are Nowhere Near being great classic albums At All, i Will admit that i Do like Both Sonic Boom & Monster better than Psycho Circus- the "reunion" album with the original band as everyone knows. but give me Any and All of the 70s Kiss albums over Monster or Sonic Boom Any Day!!

@Ace1976- i appreciate & understand what you're saying & one thing great about Kiss is they're so diverse in music all us Kiss fans argue over which songs are better. lol =) but no i wasn't looking for "hits" i was looking for good catchy ol' time rock n' roll the band played in the 70s (Nothin To Lose, Strutter, Mr. Speed, Ladies Room, Christeen Sixteen, Tomorrow & Tonight, Let Me Know, Room Service, Take Me, Mainline, Let Me Go Rock n Roll, Rock Bottom, Baby Driver, etc., etc.- & guess what- None of those were "hits", but i Love them, & this song goes right along with those, along with the Anthem- rockers that Were hits (Shout It Out Loud, RnR All Nite). this great tune is even borderline "anthem" material. =) now even if you're into the "heavier" side of Kiss, those great old ones like Watchin You, Parasite, She, I Want You, Hotter Than Hell, Makin Love, etc. etc, are So much better & more catchy than the ones on this album. i feel excpet for this song, and Maybe 1 or 2 others that Are pretty good, it lacks the substance & melodies old Kiss songs once had. but as far as songs go, hey, to each his/her own. But- as far as live- sorry but i have to Totally disagree with you there. have you Seen them?? do it for us???!! they do practically the Same songs year in and year out!! just about Any diehard Kiss fan will admit & tell u that. why can't they do the songs they did on the Kiss Kruise on a whole tour?? but i still say you Simply cannot compare this album to those Great classics like Destroyer, Love Gun, Rock n Roll Over, or Any of the 70s albums, along with Revenge which is great just like those. everyone has their opinion on songs & that's fine but i think putting Monster in the same category or even Breath, as Any of those classic albums is an insult & slap in the face to those all-time great classic albums Kiss once did!!

@Don Graman: This new album doesn't have the catchy tunes that the last one did, but it has a very agressive sound that shows what the band can do today. If you expected hit music, give it another listen. It's the band getting heavy again. Let's support them in this effort. They do it for us and will keep performing our faves live. This new album has a sound that tells us that KISS is a strong band that is focused on playing hard.

now That's Rock n' Roll and That's the Kiss i grew up with!! one of the Best songs they've ever recorded!! But- too bad there's no other song on the album like it!! sorry guys- just One great song on an album ain't gonna cut it!! also- Please don't Anyone compare This album to Real Great albums like Destroyer, Love Gun, or Revenge!! that's an insult to those classic albums!! yes, i can listen to This song over & over 100 times. This is a Terrific song & they should have written More like This!! But as far as the whole album goes- i'd rather listen to Any of those old 70s Kiss albums (along with Revenge) 100 times over before sitting through this whole Monster album Once!! like i said, just One great song doesn't make an album and This is the Only Great song on this album!! Very happy & pleased with This song, Very disappointed with the album!!

@Jerry Pennington: I agree! It's really not about the makeup, but not only is he way cuter in the cat makeup, his style of playing is much different to Peter (whom I respect as well). I do think Eric's style of playing is more suited to KISS now, though.

Wall of Sound , Last Chance & Eat Your Heart Out are my faves from this superb album . Long Way Down is a strange choice for the second single as it is the low point of the album in my opinion, but is still a great track ...... Can only think of Destroyer being a better album than this... Monster is at least on par with Creatures/Revenge.... Way better than I thought it was going to be and well worth the wait ..... This is a must have album for all rock fans not just the Kiss faithful .... BUY IT NOW !
