UM Records continue their impressive start with another all star, international line up of deep house talent. Andre Detoxx's 'She Believed In Me' serves up two original tracks from the UK based DJ/producer, and three remixes from a decidedly French flavoured line up of YokoO, the HouseRiders (French/Canadian) and HouseRiders members Jeff Fontaine and Deep Spelle who also remix under their own names. The EP delivers a rich vein of deep, organic house with some techier edges courtesy of YokoO.
Andre Detoxx moved to London from his native Poland back in 2004 and has been steadily building his DJ/producing reputation ever since. A PointBlank music school graduate, where his tutor was Danny J Lewis (Enzyme Black, Defected, Spiritual South) the first release from this new talent surfaced in 2010 on ABP before going on to feature on Tanztone, SoundBar Records One and DeepWit Recordings.
Frenchman Deep Spelle (Brice Martin Spelle) returns to UM Records to feature twice on this EP, hot on the heels of the impressive 'Can't Stop Thinking About You' EP. First he goes under the HouseRiders guise with Canadian and long-term music cohort Jeff Fontaine on 'Nightchords', before the pair also deliver a remix of 'Redeem'. Both mixes demonstrate their love of deep, organic house music which has seen them rapidly establishing their pedigree on iRecords, Soul Industries, Cromarti Records, Aenaria Music and DeepWit Recordings over the last year or so.
YokoO, aka Julien Beltzung, originally comes from France but now resides in Sydney. A studio head in the true sense of the word, Julien spends much of his time pondering bass lines and warm synth riffs that heat up dance floors the world over. Previous releases have feature on highly regarded labels such as 22 Digit, Affin, Plastic City, Kina Music and Beef Records.
New Zealand's UM Records is part of the untitledmusic empire that encompasses a blog, a worldwide weekly radio show on eNation, Deepvibes, Live1.fm, Westradio to name a few, and the largest deep house fan group on Facebook. To date releases have been gathering strong support from the likes of Atnarko, Evren Ulusoy, Jay West, Andy Riley (Inland Knights), Jazzy Eyewear, Robert Owens, Fred Everything, Leigh Morgan, Rick Preston, Graeme Park, Jon Delerious, Matthias Vogt, Nick Holder and many more.
