"KM-ULTRA gettin' so profound, I can see through you with my ultra sound... Spittin' big words that you can't pronounce, this is how we do it in the Ultra Lounge!" (Lyrics from KM-ULTRA Lounge) https://soundcloud.com/ultra_km/km-ultra-lounge

About me:
I grew up in Martinez, CA. More specifically in a CDP neighborhood called "Vine Hill", located in the East San Francisco Bay Area, Contra Costa County, (925). I would have never pictured myself becoming a musician or artist when I was growing up as a kid. But after high school I got interested in all sorts of writing, mainly poetry, journalism and screenplay. I went on to attend an art school in San Francisco and a film school in Vancouver, BC, but after graduating, I found an affinity for writing, recording & performing hip-hop music. I moved all around the NW United States & Canada between the years of 2001-2006, then I came back to the Bay Area and encountered some old friends (Illuminati, Rick-Lo & Deraj the Scatterbrain) who had already begun their rap careers. Thus, with the addition of the multi-talented artist Mortal Mic, the rap group Metaphorsemen was created.

About the Metaphorsemen:
Metaphorsemen or Metaphor Horsemen are a rap group consisting of me KM-ULTRA, Rick-Lo (ill Eagle), Illuminati and Mortal Mic. The theme of our music is apocalyptic because we metaphorically represent "The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse". I recommend also checking out https://soundcloud.com/illuminatimusic to listen to his solo music & other Metaphorsemen hits.

The name and what it stands for:
The name KM-ULTRA subtly refers to a government mind control program that was leaked to the public. My interest in exposing conspiracy theories is what inspired me to chose the name. The initials "KM" decidedly stands for Knowledge Monger, also the name of my upcoming debut album.

My style, technique and objective:
I feel like I am a pusher of knowledge, a lot of my lyrics are cryptic, and they make reference to all sorts of crazy things that I have studied throughout my lifetime. When people hear my songs, I want them to research the keywords that I use in my lyrics, and be blown away by what they learn. You might call it: lyrical, conscious, abstract, underground, indie/alternative hip-hop, political, spiritual, nerd-core, space rap etc. There is definitely a niche group of listeners who truly appreciate the advanced type of lyrics that I have been known for. I try to make fun songs too, not every song has to be complicated. I listen to a ton of old school and gangsta rap, although their lyrical content does not typically coincide with my personal lifestyle, I try to pick up on the rhythmic delivery of those genres. If I get categorized as an intellectual or cerebral sub-genre of rap, I still want to pay homage to the roots of the genre by emphasizing on rhythm, syncopation & freakin' the beat (so to speak). The lyrical content is my strong suit, but I won't be satisfied with a verse until it sounds rhythmic enough to bob your head to. If I'm not rhythmic, or funky or using clever and/or humorous rhyme sequences, then I might as well be lecturing people. Lecturing is not rap. There is a time and place for spoken word poetry, but that's not what I'm going for. I have an affinity for real hip-hop, and in the end, I want to have lived up to real rap standards. My rap resolution is to make my own beats and direct my own music videos as well.

Why I use SoundCloud:
I use SoundCloud to showcase solo, collaboration & Metaphorsemen group tracks that are unreleased to an official album, some tracks are private, in progress, or stuck on the shelf until further inspiration.
I also seek to collaborate with other rap/hip-hop lyricists & beat producers. Feel free to drop a line in the inbox. The best is yet to come... stay tuned!!!

B-Sides Set:
All original music & vocals being considered for future EP & LP releases.
These tracks will often be revised, remixed and/or remastered as a final product.

Mix-Tape Set:
Original vocals over instrumentals by other artists.
This set includes remixes of popular and lesser known songs by other artists.
This set also includes original songs recorded over obscure beats that have exchanged hands so many times that, unfortunately, the original beat producer's name has been lost.
Basically the Mix-Tape set consists of songs that I do not own the rights to release on an official album.

Mash-Up Set:
Two prerecorded tracks layered one over the other.
I mix these tracks DJ style with the permission of the original artists.

Sounds of the Sun Set:
Instrumentals and vocals being featured on a Zodiac themed compilation album.

Fan Replay Set: These are some my favorite songs that I've come across through affiliates and I try get more attention for them by promoting and sharing them myself. I am in favor of supporting real artists, and pushing certain niche genres so that they gain popularity, I feel this in turn helps our own music find it's place with listeners, both local and worldwide.

Metaphorsemen Set: These sets feature all of our rap group's songs that we have released thus far. Many of them are linked through other band mate's soundcloud pages.
