Pappy’s are one of the best sketch groups in the U.K. They have just returned from performing Last Show Ever at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival for the month and are now touring the show around the U.K. Pappy’s were nominated for a Foster’s Edinburgh Comedy Award for Best Show and more than half of the reviews published about Last Show Ever were 5*s with no review lower than 4*s. Last Show Ever is more than just a sketch comedy show – it is a brilliant masterpiece of exceptional comedy writing, structure and performance that takes audiences on a journey that is as genuinely moving as it is utterly hilarious.

Pappy’s also have their own podcasts called Pappy’s Bangers and Mash, which was name iTunes’ Best New Comedy Podcast of 2011 and Pappy’s Flatshare Slamdown, which won the Loaded Lafta Award for Funniest Podcast. They also wrote and hosted their own gameshow for Channel 4, the Mr and Mrs Hotty Hott Hot show, and separately appeared in TV shows, such as 8 Out of 10 Cats, Meet The Parents, Miranda, Never Mind The Buzzcocks and Watson & Oliver.

The BBC have also just announced that they have commissioned a new studio sitcom series for BBC Three called The Secret Dude Society, written and performed by Pappy’s. The BBC state “the new studio comedy sees the trio get up to a whole host of hilarious adventures at home, at work and in love.” For more information, visit:

This interview with Sara Shulman was originally broadcast on UCLU Rare FM in February 2012 and is a fantastic insight into Pappy’s as a sketch group and has lots of invaluable advice about taking a show up to the Edinburgh Festival, performing around the world and the comedy scene in general.

Sara Shulman is the Founder and Editor of Comedy Blogedy, former Head of Comedy at UCLU Rare FM and produces the Humour Me Comedy Podcast. Sara is also a Classics Undergraduate at UCL.
