Tyrrell went from rock guitar prodigy to recording studio whiz-kid when he moved to London from Canada at the height of the dance music explosion of the late eighties / early nineties. He embraced the new technologies available in computer based studios and progressed from programmer/engineer to producer. Sessions soon followed with Blue Pearl, The Orb, Youth, Steve Hillage & System 7, Richie Rich, A Guy Called Gerald, Baby Ford, the Stereo MCs, and two hit albums for PM Dawn, one of which spawned the US #1 single, 'Set Adrift On Memory Bliss'.

In 1999 Tyrrell teamed up with Paul Martin to form Interfearence and released a critically acclaimed, self-titled album on Pete Tong's ffrr label. Interfearence remixed Gotan Project, INXS, Sneaker Pimps, CJ Bolland, Brand New Heavies and Galliano to name a few. Tyrrell then formed the electronica duo HOOKED with Chris Midas and released a string of successful singles and remixes with widespread support.

While still considering himself a guitarist first, Tyrrell also plays keyboards, flute and percussion as well as other assorted stringed instruments such as bass, mandolin, sitar, and ukulele. When not recording in his home studio, Tyrrell DJs to throngs of clubbers all around the world playing rocking electro house including favourites from his own works like 'LaLaLaLaLaLa' and 'Naked In The Rain Vs Blue Pearl'.
