Back in January, 2010, "Rhinoceros" heard that I produced music, listened to it, and then soon after met me at lunch at school and confronted me about it, saying he really enjoyed it and would love to do a track with me some time. Awhile down the line in May, after we had become good friends, we decided to finally work on a track together. After a few failed attempts, Rhinoceros took a hold of the computer, messed around with FL Keys, and made that little melody you hear in the intro. Before he even finished messing around I stopped him and said "that's perfect!" This was the birth of the original track, "Patience," and more or less the birth of Trystan Seven, as Patience was the first track of mine that ever got a radio play.

Once we had finished the track, we went through several names, such as "Essence," before finally coming to "Patience." The reason I chose that name at the time, was because I had been going through some incredible stress at the time, with many things in my life changing (such as I was getting ready to graduate High school), and constantly had to remind myself to be patient.

A little less than two years later, a ton of stuff has happened. Both Rhinoceros and I have had to deal with many stressful situations, and, I don't know about him, but I've had to remember to be patient with life many times during these situations, even more than I had to before. While in a rut a couple months back, I had to remind myself many times to be patient with school, my music, the fact my computer broke down, and with family drama. With all this happening, being patient was a hard thing to do, but I've had to do it, so you can imagine the idea of "Patience" has been on my mind for awhile. It only seemed fit to make a VIP of the original song that marked a great turning point in my life.

As Rhinoceros had nothing to do with this VIP, I decided to keep his name in the credits because without that boost he gave me almost two years ago, I don't think I'd be where I am right now.
