About

Truro Cathedral Choir is made up of 18 boy Choristers and 12 gentlemen. The boys all attend Polwhele House School where they rehearse every day for 50 minutes before lessons begin. Of the 12 gentlemen, 6 are permanent Lay Vicars who live and work in Cornwall. The other 6 are choral scholars who come to Truro for a year pre- or post-university.

The choir usually sings six services each week: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday at 5.30 pm, and Sunday at 10.00 am and 4.00 pm. Details of music and services can be found at http://www.trurocathedral.org.uk/music/downloads/service-listing.pdf.

The choir is usually conducted by the Director of Music, Christopher Gray, and the organ is usually played by the Assistant Director of Music, Luke Bond.

Recent CD recordings on the Regent label have included choral music of Benjamin Britten (2010), A Year at Truro (2012) and choral music of Philip Stopford (due for release in Spring 2013). All are available at http://www.regent-records.co.uk.
