Trixy T has an original attitude and unique electric spark, making waves in both South Africa and the UK with her sexy fresh beats. Growing up in Pietermaritzburg, she took, and still holds, the title of being the first and only female dj to come out of the city, and held the court many times with the likes of Lady Lea, Coco Loco, Brett Jackson, Mimi Kesaris and DJ Fresh at venues across the country including Sudada, Groove Bar, Crazy 88, Truth and Nicci Beach. Originally born in London, Trixy made a voyage back to the Big Smoke in 2008, where she earned her heels worth playing some of best venues including Ministry of Sound, Turnmills, Pacha and 54 alongside renowned names like Inland knights, Le Fleur, Kinky Movement, Sound Diggers, Marc Vedo and some of London’s hottest underground djettes; Nickelle, Rebekah, Maura and Laura Essence.
Her sound is a vision of inspired deep house, tech house and antsier minimal and techno when she gets really set to bend the room. Staying true to her name and nature, Trixy has a lot in her music box and likes to play it up by dropping something cheeky into the mix. She’s kept up the momentum with a string of guest sets at events like She Never Sleeps, Sirene, Smartie Partie and Dirty Dubbin in London, and held her own Saturday night residency at central London’s Eagle Bar. Now back in South Africa, Trixy has quickly hit the Durban scene with a bang, playing top shelf parties at Origin, and previous regular haunts FTV, The Lounge, Cubana and Panama Room, as well as throwing her own Sunday session events.
