Trim The Fat is dance music producer, DJ and head honcho of Type Six Recordings, hailing from Beverley Yorkshire he is also known as Nicky Howard. His style is a well developed and broad spectrum of full bodied House & Techno beats. Nicky’s extensive production work has established him as a well respected artist within the dance music community. Gaining support from many respected DJ’s such as James Zabiela, Miss Nine, Jay Lumen, The Scum Frog and Derek Howells his work has subsequently featured in many a frisky and proton set.
As Trim The Fat Nicky has seen releases on various top label’s including System Recordings, Endemic Digital, Influential House, Modifi Music and Hype Muzik. On the back of this notable success Nicky has appeared as Proton Radios Guest Artist and running his own monthly show on Sense.Fm The Fat Cast allowing Nicky's ability as a DJ to be widely showcased.
Recently he has featured in an interview and guest mix on Galaxy Yorkshires Nu-Breed show hosted by Riley & Durant and has subsequently was booked to play alongside Jim Rivers on the Global Underground Tour. Over the last year Nicky has also achieved various other successes. Some worth a mention include a recent remix “ Think Mechanics – DIY (Trim The Fat Remix)” being played by James Zabiela on the Radio 1 Essential Selection, a feature on Pete Tong’s Fast Trax show presented by Calvin Harris to a global audience and a few features in DJ Mag.
With a catalogue of his finest work to date due for imminent release 2009 is off to a cracking start.
