About
My love to house music came about when I first time heard house music in NYC 1994...Tunnel,Twilo,Palladium,Limelight,Roxy,USA etc.etc...all those legendary places gave me so many musical journeys by the best DJ-s at that time...Danny Tenaglia, Hex Hector,Victor Calderone,Junior Vasquez,Young Richard,DJ Merrit and list goes on whom I am so thankful for those unforgetable moments on the dancefloor...My love to house musica was instant from the first moment and the same way the urge to buy the turntables and start to collect music...
After moving back from NYC to Tallinn 1998 I had the opportunity to share my club experiences with Estonia and that’s how "VIBE-nyc" came about - I was behind the name, the idea and concept as we began musically and visually changing the old factory buildings into club spaces with theatrical decorations.
At the time, in 98, "VIBE" was totally new to Tallinn's nightlife and with this new approach became massive from the first event. In many ways "VIBE" changed the club scene in Estonia and gave a new musical direction to Tallinn's underground scene - the tribal house scene was born...
In late 98 until 2000 I had the opportunity to work with artist Soho Fond on the project "Võitlev Sõna", later called "Cafe VS" – the first industrial design with the first stationary dj booth in Tallinn, with vinyl players and a proper soundsystem. Being involved in design and responsible for the musical selection and overall promoting we gave a chance for local dj-s to play on a regular basis and the best dj-s were involved…
Events like "Tribe" in 1999 at the park Scone Bastion in Tallinn with C1(InTec), "Nu:Breed" 2002 -2004 events with guest dj-s like Sean Cormac, Alchemic Storm, Dave Taylor, Genki etc. and "Rythmoteque" nights where I played with Dj Zinbad @ R.I.F.F. were all one way or another part of the ongoing and evolving club scene in Tallinn…
In 2004 my son came into this world and in 2005 my daughter after him, where after dedicated my time and Love to them. Their names are Balthazar & Uma and they are really cool little people and I love them more than anything :)
In 2005 Dj Typo-O and Dj Solid Steel invited us to Raadio2 to fill a one hour slot with Tribal beats and in the beginning we began the show together with Dj Zinbad. After a few years Dj Raul Saaremets gave us the one hour show to host on a monthly basis.
"Tribal Madness" is my one hour show on the first Friday night from 1-2 AM which I have been hosting for five years at Raaadio 2, one of the biggest radio stations in Estonia.
For one hour, it is filled with the newest tracks and sounds from different genres - deep, funky, tribal, tech, techno, electro, progressive, etc. - but the main connecting ingredient is Drumz…always searching for new talent, the producers, artists and labels vary from show to show…Of course there is always a place for the old classics and the veterans without whom our musical scene would not be the way it is right now.
I am thankful to all the people who have been supportive and given me the chance to enjoy and play music…
