Don’t be fooled by the name, TrebleSum delivers sets that bring you through funky, dirty, swingy, vibe’n selections of bass music ranging from Trap to Drum n Bass, Dubstep to hip-hop and beyond. Fueled with a passion for music from an extremely young age, Kyle van Yzerloo AKA TrebleSum was always found with headphones on, wether it was at his grandparents listening to classical, or at home listening to his dads Pink Floyd records before he could even speak a word, it’s no wonder he ended up where he is today.
In the early 2000’s Kyle’s family moved him to Calgary Alberta where he started to discover electronic music through his years in High School here. In 2006 Kyle began his path down the DJ and Producing path, playing downtempo shows with some of the most unique psychedelic beats, after returning from Europe in 2008 he started making moves into the dubstep scene when starting a night at Calgary’s old SODA nightclub with his new friends and partners Melo.Nade and Soundbwoy. 2010 saw the conception of TrebleSum’s mainly Glitch-hop based label “Tycho Records” which has boosted some of todays most successful rising names in the bass music scene including: Minnesota, R/D, Stephan Jacobs and more. Moving forward with his love and passion for the music industry Kyle joined forces with Fat Pat and many others with the crew “Space Invaderz” and started designing some large scale festival stages and continuing what Pat had started in Calgary doing stage designs for smaller club shows and art projects as well. Space Invaderz has quickly grown to a large group and has become a staple in the western canadian festival circuit doing stages for Motion Notion (Cabana Stage), Shambhala (Pagoda Stage), SYNC Fest (Temple Stage), Fozzy Fest (Forest Stage) and more. Also making a name for themselves as one of the premier promoters of psychedelic bass music in the Calgary local scene throwing mind blowing visual shows with artists like ChrisB. ill.Gates, Minnesota and beyond.
2013 has by far been one of TrebleSum’s most exciting years, joining the PK Sound family as an Audio Tech, playing loads of festivals alongside Melo.Nade on 4 turntables, and producing more and more quality tunes. This young Ninja has no desire to do anything but help the music industry rise from all fronts and is very devoted to working hard towards a quality scene in Western Canada.
