Trashy Trash DJs are a collective of djs in Seattle Wa and Portland Or. Members include Same Dna, Introcut, Claude Balzac, MadMax Wallace, Colin Jones, Nate Detroit and Freaky Outty. Most members are clocking in at around 10 years of djing experience, opening for artists such as Modeselektor, Jacob London, Dj Craze, Dj Jazzy Jeff, Talib Kweli, Trevor Loveys, DJ Qbert, Jerry Abstract, Amon Tobin, Grandmaster Flash, Daedelus, James Pants, Boys Noize, Michna, Blue Scholars, Fleshtone, Copy, Truckasauras, Grand Wizard Theodore, and Grand Master DXT.
Their most recent endeavors include a collaboration with SNAP! 90s Dance Party crew out of Portland, Oregon, rocking Ruff Gemz, deejaying and promoting at Stop BIting (Tuesdays at Lofi), showcases in Decibel Festivel, and the recent kickoff of the Choose Your Own Adventure dance party series.
The CYOA party is a different spin on audience participation. Hosted by a drunken referee with a whistle and an airhorn, the djs are called in and out of short sets at the whim of the host. At the beginning of each set, each song is played for 10 seconds, and the crowd is left to decide which direction the night will then take. YOU choose the adventure for us, while the dj's skills are put to the test.
In more dayglo colored news, anyone who was at the most recent SNAP! in Seattle (8/21 at Lo Fi - and there were a lot of you) can attest to what a fun party this has become. Our best possible achievement this collaboration could ever reach would simply be getting this event to be as fun and wild as the Holocene monthly event held in Portland, OR. Big shouts to Coco, Freaky Outty, Dr. Adam, Colin Jones, Nate Detroit, Maxx Bass, Dundiggy and the rest of the PDX crew. Much Love.
In the meantime, we'll be looking for the perfect beat. Much thanks to all the artists, dj's, dancers, promoters, mcs, drunks, bartenders, punks, degenerates, mommies, pappies and babies that we are so fortunate to call our friends and family.
