Tough Love are set to release the next split 7" in their on running series on June 25th. With past releases having seen the pairing together of Male Bonding and Eat Skull, Fair Ohs and Spectrals, and Let's Wrestle and Young Governor, they now feature psych pop four piece Weird Dreams and Belfast's Girls Names on the same record. Slumberland will be releasing the record in the US.
Weird Dreams contribution to the split is their first new material since April's debut album, Choreography. Their longest track to date - an almost perverse endeavour given the format it features on - 'House of Secrets' is a slow-burning, sinister lullaby, buoyed by a spidery guitar line and replete with the rich, languorous vocals now characteristic of the band. Recorded at Studio Plateaux in between touring, it's the first recording to feature new guitarist JRC; something which plays out in the almost Verlaine vs Lloyd Television style interlocking guitar lines.
Limited to just 500 copies and on coloured vinyl, it features a side of artwork from each band.
