About

T O R C H E S are a rock outfit that have been hypnotizing and swooning the Los Angeles scene. Their sound is comprised of lush guitars, vocal harmonies and tribal drums. Singer/guitarist Azad Cheikosman and bassist, Bridgette Moody formed this band with during what was a relationship. Azad and drummer, Eric Fabbro had been bashing away at their instruments in a hot and sweaty garage for about 4-5 years before she came in to lay down the root. The band previously consisted of five, but went down to a more cohesive number of three members. In fact, Bridgette learned how to play bass the same week that the band was set to play a show in Los Angeles back in 2010. Although she has left the band, Azad and Eric continue their journey, new bass player and all.

Their music has been aired on KROQ, KCRW, KPFK, KXLU and many stations all across the U.S. They have also been featured in BBC, LA Times, Filter Magazine, RCRD LBL, Buzz Bands LA etc. The band has played mostly every nook and cranny in packed L.A. venues and have shared the stage with bands such as Sea Wolf, Andrew W.K., Atlas Genius and other great acts. They’ve toured throughout the US and played at SXSW and CMJ 2012. Torches have been fortunate enough to work with Local Natives‘ producer, Raymond Richards, David Newton (The Soft Pack, The Henry Clay People, Happy Hollows) and Jeff Lipton who has mastered records for some of today’s most intriguing artists (Arcade Fire, Wilco, Andrew Bird). This trio is excited to put out records, pet as many animals as humanly possible, see the world, meet weird looking people, share experiences and much more.
