'A Beautiful Life' is the first track to be mixed from my new album 'Citizens of the Planet'. Starting in July, I spent five and a half months recording last year in Victoria, BC with Producer Joby Baker. I can honestly say it has been the best recording experience to date. My intention going into the recording process was to develop a new sound for this time, and I feel that I can truly say that. Most of the recording has been done, and now we are on to mixing.

After being Diagnosed with Graves Disease in 1997, it would be a full ten years until I would tour again. There were times living on the beautiful island of Kauai that I thought I would never be making music again.

I send out a special thanks to Eve Ensler for asking me to write a song for her documentary called, 'Until the Violence Stops'. Eve's request was, "I want you to write an anthem that will inspire people to end violence against woman and girls for all time!" Making no promise, this beautiful request got me stewing and brewing for almost six months on the question, and the end result was a song called, Because You're Beautiful and the big realization - I needed to make music again.

Citizens of the Planet is the culmination of what I've learned by living humbly on the beautiful island of Kauai with the focus on healing myself of Graves Disease. I've had the honor to connect with the land and the elements where I live. And I feel not only enriched and renewed from my beautiful journey, I no longer have Graves Disease.

It is my hope you will enjoy this album as much as I have had recording it!
