About
Tom Hannay is a singer/songwriter and composer hailing from the north of England. His solo work blends elements of jazz and folk with a twist of country, that he embellishes with his powerful and distinctive vocals.
Having recently moved back to the UK after living in Iceland for a while, Tom is currently engaged in composing for the 2011 film Making Ugly. The soundtrack is to be transformed into its own independent live show and album release, ready for the autumn of 2011. Preparations are currently underway to schedule a tour of the UK in order to support the release of the film.
Tom wants to bring elements of vaudevillian theatre into his live shows. His Influences include Tom Waits, and the Tiger Lillies and he uses props and stage tricks to heighten the atmosphere of his performances.
