A freely improvised piece for Kaleidochord - a keyboard instrument invented and built by Swedish composer/improvisor/inventor & instrument maker Johannes Bergmark - installed in the exhibition of Fabulous Sound Machines in Gloucester City Museum & Art Gallery, Summer 2010.
The instrument consists of a wooden piano keyboard affixed to a glass case, inside of which are hundreds of household objects, toys and bits of detritus attached to each of the piano keys. See Johannes' website http://bergmark.org/ for more details about this and other extraordinary instruments.
With obbligato accompaniment by the wheezing and clunking of the Octo-Organ [Simon Dresorgher] and the shimmering of sheet metal from Tsjuji [Max Eastley]. Please forgive the distorted passages - got a bit carried away and wasn't watching the recording levels!!!
Performer - julia cl price.
