About
Some say that when she was born, a star burned over her birthplace so that punters could be guided to pay homage. Others say she was born with her snap back and singlet already on. Regardless of the mythos surrounding this young DJ, it's hard to deny her talents when it comes to working a floor.
The decision to become a DJ was made easy for a high-school age Hartlett when she was first exposed to the party scene.
"I watched a video of Cornelius by The [Bloody] Beetroots at school, and I was like, 'I can do that,'" she recalls. "That video clip, I thought it was so cool, everyone getting smashed and hooking up with people. That was so influential to me, so I was like, 'Fuck it, I'm gunna be a DJ'. That was literally all it was to me."
After buying her set up piece by piece, and spending exhaustive hours practising, Tink finally scored her first gig as a resident at weekly club night Mine at Mansions.
Just two months later, her merits brought her to FHM Club of the Year Electric Circus- incidentally, the venue at which parts of her aspirational Cornelius video were filmed- where she became a resident on Thursdays and Saturday nights, supporting the likes of Calvin Harris, Drop the Lime, Hot Chip, Sidney Samson, Surkin, DJ Craze, Morgan Page, Thomas Gold, Adrian Lux, 360, Uffie, Feenixpawl, Sampology, Alison Wonderland, Ajax, Bag Raiders, Nina Las Vegas, Danny T, Ruby Rose, Light Year, Yolanda Be Cool, Flight Facilities and far more.
Since, Tink has added a residency at super club HQ Complex to her resume, taken to the stage at Stereosonic for the last two years, and rocked legs of the Creamfields and Parklife festivals. She shared a Soundpond radio show with She Can DJ winner Leah Mencel, and has become the go-to girl for Adelaide fashion parades, as well as Moet & Chandon and Belvedere events.
Her steeze has concreted her as a local party starter, and her in-demand sets ensure that she maintains a strong crowd at every gig she plays.
Currently, this 20 year old is working on a new multiple CDJ live show, whilst also producing for her debut EP.
Tink is the holy grail of the Australian party scene. Look out for her at a club near you.
