Michigan based singer/songwriter Timothy Monger first made his name as co-founder of seminal folk-rock group Great Lakes Myth Society (GLMS). Prior to his band's success, Monger released his solo debut, the lush, orchestral pop song-cycle "Summer Cherry Ghosts" in 2004. The album was well received and caught the attention of Japanese label Trolley Bus who reissued it in 2005. That same year, GLMS released their debut album putting Monger's solo career on the back burner while the band spent the next four years touring and recording for the Quack Media label.

Now, with GLMS on a sabbatical, Monger has finally delivered his follow-up solo album "The New Britton Sound" released on his own Northern Detective label. Recorded over the course of two years on a 1920's farm in rural Britton, Michigan, the album is an elegantly crafted pop gem layered with hints of rock, lush folk and pastoral American songcraft.
