This song was written by Trey and myself, and eventually released by Phish on Undermind. But long before that, I released it featuring singing by a great band called The Saras. Check it out -- it also features a COMPLETE set of lyrics (AHEM Trey!...somehow a verse was overlooked by Phish!)

Maybe the verse was overlooked by Trey because he didn't feel it was complete, maybe a little 'dark'. I don't know,,, I actually think this verse would have more of a happy ending??? If you take out:
And here I maneuver in doubtful terrain,
Wondering which of my feelings remain and replace it with:You captured my interest as if by a spell,
There's no turning back now for that I can tellWhat do you think? Maybe Phish will fell more comfortable including that version?

love it, and especially the vocals. i was a huge fan when it came out. i was actually kind of disappointed by phish's version.

I had no idea this was a "cover". It's one of my absolute favorite songs from the era. Thanks for posting the original, and for the history of the song.
